Pain. Fear. Those two things go together, don’t they? Especial for some kids. I remember playing baseball in Little League. I was a catcher. The pitch, the batter “swings” and sometimes deflect it right into me. I got creamed. It hurt so bad. I cried. Thinking the coach would pull me, I started pulling off my gear – he said, “What are you doing? Get back out there. It’s just a bruise.” I brushed myself off and I did. Had I NOT – I’m not sure I never would have gotten behind the plate again. As parents, we can’t baby our kids. Bee stings hurt, for sure. Some are allergic, for sure. But when our kids get a little dinged up, love them, but encourage them to go right back out there. Be strong and courageous.
